Product Description Instant Container Gardens covers a revolutionary, new container garden system that will completely transform your garden. The basis for the system is a unique type of container that has holes in the sides that are large enough to accommodate mature plants. Planting through these holes, along with planting the top of the basket, yield instant, fabulous results. And it is easy! Most of the containers in this book were planted by beginners! The containers are available as hanging baskets, window boxes, wall pots, and dramatic, new baskets on columns. The book includes 33 container profiles that were personally grown by the author. Each profile includes complete planting and maintenance instructions. Step-by-step illustrated demonstrations, along with lots of practical planting and maintenance information, make designing and growing plants in these containers quick and easy. The author planted over 10,000 plants in the course of researching the material for the book. She recommends 34 of the top choices, with detailed growing instructions for each. Before and after photos show complete makeovers of the front of a house, a porch, front walkway, and porch. Learn how to transform your home in as little as a few hours with this unique, new container system.

The information about what plants work and don't work in containers contained in this book is what every gardener here in the northeast should have in their book collection. Just an excellent book.
Excellent Book! May 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is very helpful in planning container planting. Pamela has done all the grunt work to see if it woks or not. All you have to do is buy the plants and have fun watching them grow!
How To ... Use Her Product April 25, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I agree with the other reviewers that this is a good book, full of valuable information; however, I'm surprised no one has mentioned that it is basically a "How To" guide for using Pamela Crawford's/Kingsman Nurseries (patent pending) instant container gardens. While the book does give good information about which plants grow well in containers and also what color schemes work together, etc., it is mostly devoted to using the "instant" container products the author designed. Unfortunately, these containers are not available in mass-retail garden centers, only limited availability in small business garden stores and two on-line garden retailers (from what I can tell). I gave the book four (4) stars because it does provide useful information, but I couldn't give it five (5) stars because it's not completely useful off-the-shelf ... one must also buy the containers and special liners to make the beautiful container gardens described.
