Product Description To design in Zen is to design with beauty, simplicity, and harmony in mind, and to honor the true nature of every material. When applied to flower arranging, the Zen approach allows us to discover each flowers underlying qualities, and to use those qualities to enliven rooms, uplift spirits, and nurture lives. Zen Flowers shows both novices and seasoned designers how the ideals and spiritual values of minimalism can be applied in a very practical way to floral compositions.
Author Brenda Berkley, owner of a Los Angeles flower shop, shares her holistic perspective and provides a few basic principlesrather than a strict set of rulesfor making simple but spectacular arrangements. Illustrated with 125 lush photographs, this elegant book demonstrates how to get started with flowers; how to choose the perfect container; how to work with light, space, and decor; and how a flowers color, texture, shape, and form all affect design. The reader is also invited to embrace the finer points of forming compositions, such as the proportion of flower to container. As delicately beautiful as it is quietly profound, this unique celebration of flowers shows how a touch of natures bounty can transform an ordinary room into a tranquil sanctuary.

| Customer Reviews:
zen flowers beautifully photographed, well written March 20, 2008 This book is absolutely beautiful. The quality of the book is truly impressive with it's gorgeous, unique photographs and insightful writing. The book goes into detail about the how and why of Zen design. The attention placed in the layout of the book is rare, and perfectly unites the text with the photography.
Truly refreshing to see a book that leads us into the mysteries that lie within the universe of flower arrangement.

I was enchanted to have received such a lovely, beautiful book as a gift. I loved it so much that I, in turn, sent it to many friends and relatives who also really enjoyed the serenity of the photographs and the inspirational prose by the two authors. It's a great gift to buy... and to enjoy !!!!!!

Incredible photographs of elegant simplicity. Anulka and Brenda have imparted grace and ease in an un-easy world. My guests have all looked through the book with oooh's and ahhhhh's. I have already been inspired to evolve my own flower arrangements. I LOVE this book!
