Product Description
Succulent plants offer dazzling possibilities for garden design and require only minimal maintenance to remain lush and alluring year round. Featuring the work of more than 50 professional garden designers and creative homeowners, this complete design compendium is as practical as it is inspirational. Lavishly illustrated with over 300 photographs, it gives design and cultivation basics for paths, borders, slopes, and containers; hundreds of succulent plant recommendations; and descriptions of 90 easy-care, drought-tolerant companion plants. Beginners and experienced designers, landscapers, and collectors alike will find what they need to visualize, create, and nurture the three-dimensional work of art that is the succulent garden.

4 out of 5 stars designing with Succulents   April 10, 2010

As of right now I find this book to be full of great information. I have not completely read the book. I do recommend it to others who want to protect their property and homes from
wildfires and also to beautify their landscapes without a lot of trouble (maintance) and the use of lots of water..I am a Master Gardener with the UC system of Ca. This is my personal opinion not the UC's.

Gorgeous and so resourceful - if you're interested in succulent gardens - this is the book. I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for landscape designers and their clients   October 26, 2009
Christiane Holmquist (San Diego, CA)
It is a valuable and important tool in my work as landscape designer in San Diego County. Since our recent water restrictions and the increasing awareness that water, too, is a resource that needs to be used prudently, succulents are growing in appreciation in the public. To my knowledge there is no other book available that does not only show beautiful succulents but also enticing landscapes containing them which I can show to clients for whom succulents can work in a very satisfying way.

5 out of 5 stars Great for desert gardeners!   October 25, 2009
azdeanna (Phoenix, AZ)
Although many of the gardens in the book are in CA, I still consider this book a "must have" for my zone 9B garden near Phoenix, AZ. It has excellent information and good pictures as well. Well worth the cost if you are looking to put succulents in your garden, either due to being in a drought prone area, or if you are "retrofitting" your garden to have more xeriscaping.

I ordered this book for my son as a gift. He really is impressed with the content of the book and he says it is one of the best on the topic he has read.
