Great book! July 24, 2010 MN (Mitchell, IN USA) Was looking for a good book with lots of info on perennials. I had found a reference on the internet to this book and decided to order. It is very informative, lots of pictures, reasonably priced.
Excellent reference April 13, 2010 V. Vesper (Tennessee) This books gives excellent information on care for a long list of perennials, including the effects of cutting back, how often to divide, etc. (Note that her sub-title has to do with pruning.) This level of detailed information is often hard to find elsewhere, and if you can find it at all, you generally have to consult many sources.
My only complaint is what's up with the bearded irises? She hates them! Can't say it enough times. Geez! If you don't like them, ok, but you really only have to say it once. Personally, I find them very low-maintenance, in direct contrast with her opinion.
The Well-Tended Perenial Garden February 3, 2010 Sandra King I gave this book to a very good friend of mine who is an excellent gardner in North Carolina. She has read it and is preparing her plantings for this season based on the book. It was recommended to me by a gardener friend in New York who uses it faithfully.
Excellent resource book November 11, 2009 Becky A. Tillett (Rochester, NY) This book is a must have for novice and expert gardeners alike. The illustrations are beautiful. This is a great reference guide to help one truly organize their gardens and the upkeep during all seasons. Would make a great gift...
