This is an index of specific problems and treatments for those problems. Excellent written detail about each issue, with good color pictures for most subjects. A fine guide for any weed grower, beginner or expert.

3 out of 5 stars Good Info   January 18, 2010

I bought this book as a gift. The information in it is good, but it could be more specific. Example: It tells you what a fungus will look like and what you can use to kill it, just not how much to use.

4 out of 5 stars The Best Quick Reference I've Found   December 28, 2009

The first few pages show detailed photos of plant problems such as Nutrient Deficiencies, Pest Problems, and Improper Growing Conditions, and how to correct them. This book transfers very well to many common house & yard plants. I like to think of it as my "WebMD" for plants in book form.

5 out of 5 stars Keep It On Hand!   November 29, 2009

This is the real "Plant Diseases for Dummies" hand book.

Page for page it's full colour covering a whole range of plant ailments from:

1-Environmental issues such as AIR FLOW-SOIL CONDITIONS and LIGHTING.
2-PESTS- bugs, crawling things and flying things + a section on PREDATOR BUGS.
3-PLANT DISEASES suffered by both indoor and outdoor plants with full colour photos of fabulous examples.

A page per ailment+ a solution for each problem. great on-hand guide for growers!
Highly recommended accompaniment book for the growers guide/ growers bible.

5 out of 5 stars Essential Tool   October 26, 2009

Very well organized, comprehensive, excellent photos. Practical advice and alternative controls. A foundation reference book for any level of grower; good reading cover to cover for the specific info and also for developing your grower's mindset. A good gift for the beginning grower and a useful tool for optimizing plant health for any degree of experience. Generally better content and context than pest/disease sections of broader growing books, probably in part due to editor Ed Rosenthal's vast experience in the field. A reliable resource and an enjoyable read.
