Product Description This grow guide keeps it cool and green by showing how energy-saving fluorescent bulbs can produce a crop. Most marijuana cultivation books emphasize specialized lighting that leads to hefty electric bills and requires ventilation and air conditioning equipment to control the temperature. This book keeps it simple: spend $100 on the grow room, and you too can harvest 8 ounces of marijuana. The author SeeMoreBuds, known for his cultivation DVDs, shows how to create the ultimate no-fuss garden. Each day is pictured so you can compare your plants with his. SeeMoreBuds keeps the garden simple and cheap by using compact fluorescent bulbs. This keeps electric bills low and the closet cool. All supplies are available from the local hardware store...except the seed.

Direct to the circular file April 21, 2010 Darnell Wilson (Los Angeles, CA) The book starts with some simple supplies for a soil based grow, preparation of soil and watering technique, PH basics followed by some basic electrical/lighting information. The remainder of the book is a daily grow journal. A hodge-podge of quotes and 'factoids' litter pages of photos of the day-to-day process with sparse descriptions. There is a small sprinkling of information throughout which is sometimes inconsistent with first hand accounts/grow-logs posted on internet resources. The results are a decent if unremarkable looking finished product. On the other hand, it would be an insanely good return on investment for the beginner (ostensibly the motivation for purchasing this book). It should be thought of as an extended grow-log (like one might find on an internet forum) in book form. Some things that were left out are fans, ventilation and air filtering, light reflectors, plant training & topping, and plant nutrients (miracle-grow pre-fertilized mix is used in this book). It serves as a good grow-log of the mango variety in a single-cola setup under smallish spiral CFL lights, so it satisfied my curiosity.
interesting read February 8, 2010 M. Page (DC, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's a nice enough book for what it is. It is a grow journal, not a real how to book. Lighting, the most important aspect of the grow, is glossed over. He doesn't really tell the reader how to set up the grow. You could get better how to info for free with a simple internet search. As a grow journal, it is an entertaining read.
What It Is.... October 24, 2009 420Hydro (North Georgia) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Marijuana Buds for Less is a colorful grow journal. The author was documenting a one-time growing experience. Photoshopping the experience produced a a product a publisher found worthy of publishing.
This book is not an instruction manual, a grow book, or any other educational tome. That being said, it is still a very interesting read. And any grower can appreciate what the author did and at the least learn how to document their own experiences.
Unrealistic approach June 15, 2009 Jack Jahoney (Boston) 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
I'm not sure what compelled me to buy this book, but I bought quite a few all at one time. Out of the bunch, this book was the least useful. I got the sense that the author wanted to draw people in with a catchy title, but for most growers, this isn't an appropriate strategy.
Most growers I know are more than willing to spend the extra dollars it takes to set up a more comprehensive and reliable grow op. If you have all the free time in the world and you want to spent your afternoons at home depot and still not really produce mind-blowing buds with a decent yield, sure this might be your book.
If you're going to take risks with your freedom and safety, avoid this book and going down this path. There are plenty of quality books from Marijuana Horticulture to Grow Great Marijuana and they pretty much agree on the same techniques whether you're growing one plant or hundreds.
Not recommended.
Great book for those wondering how to get started. March 31, 2009 Richard J. Green (Oakland, California USA) 4 out of 13 found this review helpful
You can follow this book and grow for under $100 and have acceptable product in the end. A step by step guide that takes you from setup to end and fills in the gaps with what to look for and when to do things. I actually built the lighting system and it was quite easy and appears to be effective (I built it for someone else). I did not actually grow a plant, but I do believe if you follow the book it will provide results and be quite educational, should you want to expand your endeavor....enjoy!
